Our high pressure water jetting (HPWJ) courses equip your operators with the knowledge and skills they need to do their job within Health & Safety laws.

We work with our customers by giving them the confidence and assurance that team members are operating hazardous equipment safely and correctly when working in often dangerous environments, minimising the risk of injury to themselves or people nearby or potentially damaging equipment and company assets.

Each course is customised to your organisation’s needs ensuring that content is relevant to your industry, and the various applications and environments your operators work in.

MSMSS00004: High Pressure Water Jetting (HPWJ) Operator Course

Overview

This nationally accredited course provides HPWJ industry operators with an understanding of the current Australian and New Zealand Standard 4233 – High Pressure Water Jetting, parts 1 & 2 and Safe Work Australia December 2013 Guide For Managing Risks From High Pressure Water Jetting.

The HPWJ operator course will provide participants the skills and knowledge to independently operate, coordinate, communicate, manage and complete high pressure water jetting tasks, including drain cleaning units in a safe and efficient manner.

All courses can be tailored to suit your business needs.

Entry Requirements

One Day Course

Completed HPWJ Assistant course, AND Minimum 6 months HPWJ experience, evidenced by:

  • Signed and completed HPWJ log book and/or
  • Company letterhead verifying industry experience

Two Day Course

Minimum 6 months HPWJ experience, evidenced by:

  • Signed and completed HPWJ log book and/or 
  • Company letterhead verifying industry experience

Each student must have a Unique Student Identifier (USI) which is available free of charge from

Expected Learning Outcomes

  • Understand and comply with current AS/NZ Standard 4233. 1&2
  • Comply with work health and safety & general duty of care
  • Hazards associated with High Pressure Water Jetting within a wide range of applications
  • Pressure and flow, troubleshooting systems
  • Quality and environmental management
  • Behaviours of nozzles and attachments
  • Roles and responsibilities of the entire working team
  • Safe work practices and non-negotiables

Certification

This course is nationally accredited and delivered in partnership with a nationally recognised RTO (Registered Training Organisation) for both practical and theoretical components. Successful completion of the assessment requirements will provide participants with a Statement of Attainment MSMSS00004 Operate A High Pressure Water Jetting System, which includes the following units of competecies:-

  • MSMWJ301 Operate a high pressure water jetting system
  • MEM09002B Interpret technical drawing
  • MSMWHS110 Follow emergency response procedures
  • MSMWH200 Work safely
  • MSMPER200 Work in accordance with an issued permit

Units of Competency

MSMWHS110 – Follow emergency response procedures

MSMWHS200 – Work safely

Target Group

This course is intended for workers who already possess experience and covers advanced topics such as pump fundamentals and problem-solving. Qualified Operators can supervise other High Pressure Water Jetting team members.

The Operator course is designed specifically for the High Pressure Water Jetting industry in accordance with the High Pressure Water Jetting Standard AS/NZS 4233:1. 2013.

Entry Requirements

  • Basic numeracy, literacy, English language skills and physical abilities.
  • PPE requirements: Long pants, long sleeve shirt, steel cap boots, industrial gloves, eye protection & hearing protection.

Course Delivery and Assessment

  • This course is delivered over two (2) days.
  • Training and assessment are delivered face to face at any of our facilities or onsite.
  • Assessment will include a theory assessment and practical demonstration.

Upon successful completion of this course candidates will be issued with a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment for the Unit/s of Competency.

Your Statement of Attainment does not have an expiry date; however, industry standards recommend retraining every two (2) years.

MSMSS00003: High Pressure Water Jetting (HPWJ) Assistant Course

Overview

Our High Pressure Water Jetting (HPWJ) Assistant course is nationally accredited and provides participants with an understanding of the current Australian and New Zealand HPWJ Standards 4233 parts 1 & 2 and Safe Work Australia December 2013 Guide For Managing Risks From High Pressure Water Jetting.

The HPWJ Assistant course will train operators in the basic skills and knowledge to enable them to operate high pressure water jetting equipment, including drain cleaning units in a safe manner whilst under the supervision of a competent operator.

All courses can be tailored to suit your business needs.

Entry Requirements

There are no specific entry requirements with respect to knowledge or prior experience.

– Common hazards in the work environment
